So Im now on the wear blocks of my Cups. I need to ditch them for something a bit more "all weather" although I have to say they have been brilliant over the summer!
Stealer is quoting 1250 for PS2s or 1100 for Continentals. I've not yet started the ring around. Can I just ask how many miles I should expect on each because from experience whilst the Michelins cost a bit more they tend to last a lot longer.
I get the impression no-one goes for Contis although I am told that its BMWs factory choice for the M3 now? Every other model gets Bridgestone but they don't make them for the M is that right?

A bizarre naming system though.
I got 16,000 miles out of the rears on my PSII's and could still have run them a bit longer. Fronts look absolutely fine at the moment and look like they will last well beyond 20,000.
Replaced the rear tyres about six weeks ago - I got about four quotes from tyre suppliers generally recommended by other PHers and they all came out between £300 and £320 each fitted for the rears (for 19's)

Having said that, I have a set of Hankook Ventus' on the front of the TT and they are rather good indeed.

Test undertaken at Conti's test facility, no doubt?Those damned tests are more advertising features.
The reality is this...
Fit the nasty contis and the tc light flashes continuously. Fit PS2s and the light stays off and alacrity is increased. Also, I had 3, yes THREE!!!!! blowout in 5,000 miles on my Mercedes SL55 and no explanation from Conti. So they can shove it up their 'aris.
On my E92 I get average 15K miles from all 4 tyres. The cup+s were OK but no real step up in dry grip, but poorer in the wet. They wore out agfter 12k miles.
PS2 all the way. They are still current. As I understand it, the PS3 is not a replacement.

I have followed the threads about conti sport attack motorcycle rubber on S1000RR BMW bikes. Mine (thankfully) came with nice Metzelers but some unfortunates had the contis fitted. In the early days they were all crowing about how good the piles of poo were, but now are yelling about the things giving up grip at any opportunity.
Do not be conned. Same banal marketing drivel that Audi do all the time forcing unnecessary 4wd on the world and spoiling driving pleasure, all hidden by a veil of Germanic knowhow. Complete bollix....

Just checked my last invoice. Was £1,082 fitted from Abingdon tyres (who buy from Micheldever, I think).
I have stuck with PS2's on my M3. Rears have done 10k per set (now on 4th set) and fronts did 18k. I am on 18's. My last rears were £515 inc VAT etc for the pair from etyres, fitted at home. That price was slightly higher than my local independent dealer, lower than Micheldever.
A very recent Autocar tyre test put the Conti SC3 top.
A previous Autocar test put Eagle F1's top; as a result I bought a set for my wife's SLK, and they had a disastrously short life. I went back to Conti's!

Update.
Erm........ so dare I say I called Kwik Fit to satisfy my curiousity? The best offer was 25% off Eagle F1s which puts them at £804 fitted. Unfortunately having gone around the loop with them they can't get the rear tyres for some weeks. Gutted.... temporarily.... until they offered PS2s fitted for £950!!!!! I am over the moon! They must be monthly driven since they must be fitted tomorrow.
