Hi All
Going to look at this Z4MC tomorrow: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2046102.htm

All looks tidy and a good spec, but anyone know any background? Any thoughts on the colour 'Ruby Black'?
Cheers

I`m sorry, I could be wrong but that looks more like carbon black and the seats are not bi-colour. Not sure about the extended amarone leather on dash, but if you like it.....

Looks a lovely car, drivers seat a little battered but that`s common on these, especially if you like pies.

Check all the usual, running in service etc.

One thing I will add is for that price you may as well buy from BMW and get manufacturer`s warranty?

Have a look at the Imola red one at Barons BMW in Farnborough. My old car so I know the history and if you speak to Richard he`ll do you a cracking deal.

Well I've never seen that interior colour before. Nice.

Be sure to check all services and do not forget about the most important initial running in service that should occur around 1200 miles.

However, personally I would look to buy from BMW AUC so you get the warranty for peace of mind.

I have a Ruby Black MC. Looks black most of the time, although you do get the Ruby metalic reflecting through depending on light, sun, angle etc. Looks really good and I have the Imola leather which compliments. I have not seen the leather colour in the one for sale before, so can't comment but if it is a deep red I'm sure it will go well. Not sure about the extended leather on the dash, again would need to see in the flesh.

Go and have a look and i'm sure you will either love or be indiferent.

Highly rec the Z4MC though, so what ever colour you go for you will still have a big smile when driving.

lovely colour combo!

have a listen to a logic 7 hifi car vs a non-logic 7 car before you buy.
(not sure what professional hifi means)

That's the only red leather I'd have on the ZM, the other red is too lurid to live with...but that's still a crazy dash. Easily swapped though so don't let that put you off. Check out z4-forum faqs etc for more info.

Mine has the fancy stereo.

Total waste of money; i'm forever switching it off so i can hear the engine.

Apart from the dash and the worn seat that looks perfect. Love the colours and the spec.

First impressions are good. As long as it's done the important 1200 mile service.

I like the colour combo, seat's a little worn. It's hard to say how good the paintwork is from those photo's though..

Agree watch the swirls with that paint work. Looks good from distance, it's only when you get up close you will notice the imperfections. Can be fixed though..

What would be the best way to fix?

Is this a particular problem for Ruby Black and why?

I had problems with swirls on my M coupe which is IB. My car was pretty bad and I attempted to remove them by hand but after spending two days on the rear wing and door I gave up and had the car professionally corrected and it now looks superb. Certain BMW paints are more likely to have swirls and IB is one of them. If this car looks like it needs a paint correction then use that to get the price down but dont let it put you off the car.

May I ask who did the correction and how much it cost?

A few things about the MC.

It looks good value but make sure it has the following:

-Running in Service on time
-Is it still in BMW warranty
-Does it need a service soon?
-What condition are the brakes and tyres.

Double check the car is HPI clear as ASM like to sell cat d repaired cars - I am not saying he has failed to mention it in the advert but just be sure.

If it was my money though, the following car would be my choice - its identical to mine! I know of the owner and he is meticulous and the car really is a gem.

Looks nice to me, loving the colour combo. The interior is very rare and makes it quite a special car.

I would also consider the one in the link above, you'll be needing CSL wheels at some point. They don't look anywhere near as good without them imho.

The Hi-fi professional is the old name for LOGIC 7 I think. You can tell if you have LOGIC 7 by opening the Nav screen, going to menu and looking for DSP as an option. If you don't have it then you don't have the top spec stereo.

Thanks Rags, went to the Aston shop at the weekend. I'm now in more of a hurry to sell......
