It is with great regret that I have to say that i am selling the Z4M. It has been one of the best cars I have owned and am going to miss it greatly.

We have just had an offer accepted on a 1700's Farmhouse which needs modernising meaning that the toys are the first to go frown

Apart from here where is the best place to advertise it? It's getting detailed next week so will have some pictures as soon as that has been done.

Apart from a 3.0L Z4 what else would you recommend to replace it aroung the 10k mark?

Can you pick up a M Coupe for 10k???

I'd love a M5 but couldnt justify the running costs at the moment (plus prefer having the roof down if spending that much on running costs & petrol)smile

123d mm heard good things about these so may be worth a bit more investigation. I'm swinging between some pretty different extremes at the moment in my head.

decisions, decisions.....

I'd be looking at Imprezas or an sti forester. Not the chavvy ones, but something nice like a spec D or similar. Quick, fun and practical. Bung some winter tyres on and driving through wintry lanes to your country retreat will be a doodle but still fun.

S2000...

Cheaper to run, fun toy for the weekend, roof down, great pleasure to drive, more raw, love it.

as above with regard to the running costs.

I'm thinking either a 330 cab or Z4 3.0 as I would really like to keep the convertible aspect but just on a lower budget.

might be worth looking into the 350Z cab but not sure on the running costs...

Shame this wasn't a few weeks ago as I have a mint Z4 3.0 on my drive which is now heavily redundant (I bought a Z4MR wink) and needs to be sold when I can be bothered to deal with the tyre kickers and time wasters! Would have been a happy part-ex. Good luck anyway!

Typical!!! laugh

How are you finding them back to back?

There was a gap of 2 years between my 3.0 and M - so i could only go from a historical reference but remember being pretty impressed with the difference between "200cc"

Difference is totally night and day. The M just keeps on pulling through all gears. Feels like all the torque is in 2nd or 3rd with the standard 3.0. Also, steering on the 3.0 is wafty and overly assisted IMO. Everything just feels so much more taut and responsive in the M. Not to mention the sound of the M with the roof down biggrin
