recent insurance renewals
Discussion
Hello all, has anyone else had huge increases recently?
I've gone from paying £680 to £1049.
37, M6 vert RG17 full no claims, no accidents and a TS10 nearly three years ago.
Tracker Fitted but not garaged at night.
Recent renewal was through supercarhub.com. Fully loaded policy, main dealer repairs, like for like courtesy car etc.
Spent three days looking. Any ideas? Adrian Flux's referral service came up more expensive as did all the websites.

I've had the insurance fun and games in the last couple of weeks. Premiums have definately gone up by a fair margin in the last year.
I've got my 3 cars on an Admiral multi car policy and thought the renewal was taking the piss so phoned a lot of companies and brokers. Turns out the renewal quote was very competitive, especially when I took into consideration the sub £300 excess and no need for extra security for the M5.
I did manage to reduce the renewal by £200 though when I delayed renewing till the last minute and then threatened to cancel the breakdown cover and a few other little 'extras'
Even so, I'm still paying more than last year even after yet another year of no claims

Hi there
Yes, had this exact same thread (on another BMW forum) and issue personally myself in the last 2 months.
Last year I was paying £750 or so, 38, all mods declared, full NCB etc. This year the renewal came up with the same details at just over £1000!
Exactly the same, looked around, compared etc and quotes were even more!
Phoned up the broker I'm with and the best they could do was knock off £50.
Reason is that everything in the UK costs wise is going up, the 'party' of cheap money is over, we are all in the hangover and recovery phase and feeling the pain of excessive borrowing and not paying debts back. The insurance industry like plenty of other sectors are hiking prices up as a result.
Cheers, Dennis!

I've been having the same problem, especially now we have a child the premium shoots up about £100 when i tick that box. even with a speeding fine off its as much as last year.
What I have noticed tho is prices through comparison websites are much cheaper than visiting the site direct. For example this website called beatthatquote.com returned a price of £788 from aviva (28 yrs old, 10 NCB, SP50) But go to the website direct and it came out about £1400??. So dont know whats going on there. I'm with Admiral at moment and they are about £920 renewal.
I tried that LV but they want a tracker on it - which is another con, i dont want it back if it gets nicked! it becomes worthless.

Same thing here, both of my policies have gone from £600 ish to £1,000+. Funny thing is I requoted both of them on the Directline website and I got them both down to below £700. Directline shafting their existing customers again.I've gone from paying £680 to £1049.
