Recently replaced my 10 year old clio 1.2 with a brand new one. Now i've probably not been out on the Z4M coupe for maybe a month. Busy at work and such. Anyways took it out the garage, where it's been kept nice and shiny and on sunday went for a run. My god I forgot how stiff the clutch is and the steering is so heavy compared to the clio. Was fine once I got going. Am I getting old smile

On another point which made be a bit fuming. This taxi went past on the outer lane, then slowed down drifted onto the centre line for like 20 metres, not sure if he was checking out my car, but kicked up all this debris and a couple of huge stones bounced off my windscreen. If they impacted the centre of the windscreen it would have definatly cracked it. arghh!!

My daily driver is a mercedes A210 with probably the lightest steering and clutch/gearbox ever made so plenty of hilarity when I drive my Z4M until I get used to the difference. It hurts more going the other way i.e. from Z4M to Merc because for the first 5 minutes I'm almost putting my foot through the engine when pressing the clutch or swerving off the road when steering due to the heaviness in both on the M biggrin

hehe I went to test drive an E46 M3 last week. I couldn't believe how light everything was and how docile and refined it was.
I went to the dealer in my Griff. redface

I prefer a heavier steering wheel feel...

I find the opposite in mine! biggrin

I run a Clio Williams alongside my Z4MC. Stepping into the Z4 after the Willy, I'm always surprised how light the clutch is!

Nope, Clio is just very, very light.

Even a Focus feels like a tank compared to the latest Mégane. To my mind, that makes it more fun.

Yep, I had a Clio for the week in France earlier in the month. Drove the GTI back from the airport and I seriously thought I had flat tyres, such was the weight coming through the steering wheel.

Then driving the porker the next day was like driving a tractor..... I almost had a sweat on by the end of it.

Thing is, the more I drove the Clio the more I liked it. Problem however was that this wasn't the clio getting better, it was my memory of other cars getting worse. Quickly reset upon my return.....

Given the way you drive, I suspect you've never been 'young' wink

Agree when I picked it up I thought it was very light. However it's either got stiffer in the 1500miles or more likely I've got used to it and now think this is the norm. Clutch is very light to.

It's a great wee car. Fuel econemy superb. Stereo is actually pretty good. Iphone integrates well. Just cannot fault it. Does what it says in the tin. It's just a pity that a UK manufacturer cannot build and price cars like this now.
