Take one standard e46 M3 and make 5 modifications to it that will give the most productive and rewarding performance enhancements on track, in order of most beneficial.
Cost is not the single most important factor but does need to be considered never the less.
What have you got?

Good, I am on the right lines then;
I have lost over 40 lbs in the last year so that's a good start 'eh wink
HSD's are on the list
I have some ex. BTC AP's that I intend to fit in the near future
A 3.9 or maybe even a 4.1 diff will be going in at some point I hope
I am off to see my friend Ray West of West Tuning very soon for exactly that

Not slagging of Ray West, but make sure you get his figures independantly verified. Otherwise enjoy!

Ray has looked after me for over 10 years now and I have absolute faith in him so there will be no need for verification of figures, but thanks for the input wink

Losing weight gives you the greatest rewards at the wheel in terms of driver satisfaction. Great suspension can go some way to make up for it though. I ran a 1200 kg E36 328i track car with relatively cheap GAZ suspension until recently and now run a 1500 kg M3 Evo with Bilstein PSS9 Clubsport suspension, remap, APs front and rear and a 3.91 diff. The M3 is the much faster car in a straight line however it is only quicker on the faster tracks e.g. Bedford GT, Silverstone. Apart from the sensation of power, it is less satisfying to drive than the lighter 328i.

Keep at your diet wink
