I'm on my second M5 E60, first one somebody drove into, this one is the facelift edition. I know there is much less miles on the journey computer, but this one doesn't want to go above 11.4, wheras the old one stayed on 16.9. Maybe a few long journeys will alter that?

How many miles are you actually getting to the gallon? Miles per tank?

How accurate is the new cars speedo compared to the previous car?

How many miles is it clocking for a know journey distance? What's your phone/nav telling you is your GPS speed compared to the speedo speed?

..... Have you recently bought lead shoes?

Definitely worth a look.

As to miles per tank. It's my first tank, if I ran it dry it would return 230 miles, half being motorway.

Did you regularly reset the computer on the old one? If not then the reading is based over some time. If you don't reset the new one for a while figures may improve.
Best indicator will be miles per tank of fuel.
