Afternoon all,

I've got an E46 M3 that I bought as an AUC car. After I owned it for a year and the warranty was about to expire, I extended it for another year. Its now up for renewal again and I'm thinking about renewing it on a monthly basis rather than a year in advance. Does this have any implications as to when I finally decide to sell it i.e. can I transfer the monthly "subscription" for the BMW/Mondial warranty into the new owners name should they wish to carry on paying it?

Cheers in advance.

From memory, if you're doing the monthly subs, it will just be a case of the new owner setting up a new subscription, you dont transfer it as such.

IIRC the only 'loophole' is that if you subscribe when the milage is below 60k, you get the better price for as long as you subscribe (even if the miles go over at a later date). I dont believe it can be transfered though.

Cheers for the reply. I'm only on around 34K, so well under the 60K "cut off". The only reason I thought about switching to a monthly subscription rather than annual is that I heard rumours of an age cut off, not just the 60K mileage cut off, at which point the warranty cost jumps. Not sure if this is true though? Also, I'm just thinking long term. Obviously a car still under BMW/Mondial warranty will sell easier and I primarily want to ensure that whatever option I take, I can pass the warranty on to the next owner and hopefully sell the car easier etc.

Cheers.
