E92 M3 Software Update and MPG

Just had the DSG software updated in my M3 as I had the usual issues pulling away if you had not come to a full stop.

Glad to say the new software is much better. However the big surprise is the increase in MPG. I used to get 20.1 as my average over 4k miles. I have now done another 1k and the mpg is 23.5!!! Mixture of driving as well including drives into London, back lanes and motorways.

The car also feels like it has a bit more pull aswell (difficult to be sure as my arse dyno has not been calibrated)

I know the car has electronic torque limiters (to keep component wear down within warranty I guess?) and I have seen cars with 20 ft/lb increase with remap, so are BMW putting software in with a little more torque and revised shift pattern.

Either way its worth getting the new software version if you can! Only downside was they needed the car for 2 days as sometimes the update can be difficult apparently.
