M5 Touring - Buying Guide
Discussion
Morning All, can anyone point me in the direction of a buying guide for E61 M5 Touring, or does anyone have the known issues with 3+ year old cars either just still in or just out of warranty, i.e. Audi RS4/RS6 Avant DRC suspension problems.
Finally some nice on paper cars available around the £30k mark. Although there are currently two available at Big Motoring World one with 90k miles at £24,995 and other with 87k at £27k, why would anyone do such mileage on such a car is beyond me...
Will likely source car with existing BMW warranty anyway but any heads up on potential problem areas would be good
Cheers

Hi Bobby
I'd also love to have a E61 M5 as well! but way way out of my league at the moment!
I'd say the issues are pretty much the same as the Saloon - after all it's pretty much the exact same car and mechanicals. I 'think' the differences would be perhaps the SLS rear suspension system? bushes might be slightly different and uprated for any load carrying duties etc, but essentially, it's the same car.
It's very simple why car's like these have higher mileages - they were company owned from new and have most likely spent quite a bit of time up and down the motorways, I'd have thought very few of the upper end of cars in the UK are brought privately.
Scour the usual E60 M5 posts and threads, there's not too much on the E61 M5 side of things as they were so rare, cross reference Touring E61 normal models posts as well to gain more information.
Cheers, Dennis!
