having tried to make sense of what exactly the service costs are for an E90 M3 - I would really like a bit of help from a real owner if possible - say someone who has had their car for about 2 years.

According to BMW there are now no standard - mileage related menu prices!!!!

It depends on the age, mileage and how hard you use it. Mileage till service is worked out by the computer based on mpg so if used hard on in town you will need to service it more often. If you buy new and do say 12k miles a year you will get a free run in service at 1k miles and probably only need one service in the two year period which would be a oil change so around £300 say. After that you have an inspection 1 around 25k miles which is about £600, another oil change £300 and then the big inspection 2 service which is around £900 by 45-50k miles. Need brake fluid every two years and coolant changed every four or five years if I remember rightly so that needs to be added in. Budget £800 on tyres every year and £1000 on brakes every two years as a rough guess.

Assuming 12k mile p.a then the following costs appluy

Yr Miles Cost Description
0
1 12 800 Tyres
2 24 800 + 600 + 300 Tyres + Inspection + Oil change
3 36 800 Tyres
4 48 800 + 900 + 300 Tyres + Inspection + Oil Change

As about £1325 per year?

I am just ticking over 20,000 miles in the first 20 months - running costs will be mileage based.

I have had 1st service, brake fluid change and an oil change service. Condition based service says 14,000 until next service and over 30,000 for brakes.

Only other cost was a set of rear tyres at about 15,000 miles - rears only for 19 inch rims are about £600.

19 months 10,000 miles. Oil service and fluid changed plus other sundries has cost approx 600 quid. No tyres nor brakes ( rears say 4000 miles to go, but idrive said 7000 to go when I bought the car). Very good all round on running costs, cheapest of all my M and other performance cars to run in my experience.
