M3 convertibles, what to look out for

I'm starting to look at a couple of M3 convertibles (E46, I think. 2001/02 models) and was just wondering if there is anything specific I need to be wary of when looking?

My budget is about £10k, although trying to get closer to £9k and I'm looking for something with about 80k or less on the clock - purely for resale value, this won't do many miles as it will be a weekend car, and I'm only planning on keeping it for 12 months ish.

There's a few that I've found so far and, whilst I understand that I'm unlikely to get a proper minter for my money, the ones I've seen all look like fantastic cars for what I'm paying. Am I missing something obvious that I should be checking?!!!
