Hi. I have just brought a Z4M coupe with xenon haedlamps (I think they are by xenons) The inner lamps with the side light ln do not work as a headlamp only side lamp works. The outers work as dip and main, does any one know how they should work (There are no warning lights on) Thanks Tim.

The Z4M has bi-xenons.

You get angel-eyes for sidelights, dipped xenons as dipped beam, and full xenon as high beam.

You also get halogen bulbs inside the angel-eyes for 'flashing', as xenons don't light quick on/offs.

These images may help:

1) Headlight assembly minus the xenon parts

2) Headlight assembly xenon parts

Thanks for info, I have just been out and tryed flashing the lights and the lights that come on when flashing are the two outer lights (the ones that are dip and main) the inner ones with the angal eye side lamps still dont seam to come on no matter what i do ?. From your pics i think they are either just side lights or maybe just normal headlamp bulb in there (item 15)

I was just posting what I'd heard about the extra bulb to flash. However if this isn't the case it's probably just a shutter mechanism on the xenon bulb doing the same job.

I'm sure when I flash, it's a xenon flash.

The xenons flash. The angle eyes are side lights.

There is no halogen on the Xenon light units. The "light" surrounded by the angel-eye for sidelight use is a dummy.
