Appreciate some advice please, this is my first post.

My E92 M3 is three years old in January and I have just had the warranty renewal through from BMW - see below, with apologies for the formatting. I want to check this is standard pricing and/or whether anyone has negotiated the price. I intend to take out the fully comprehensive BMW version with recovery (£951), but want to make sure others are not getting better deals from BMW. I always new the cost would be coming, so can't say it is a shock, though it is ££ - plus tax and insurance at the same time mean Christmas presents are a little smaller this year…..

To add, I have owned the car for one year now, (second owner) and have to say I love it. It is the perfect car for me, speed, space/comfortable when I need, and reliable Current mileage is 20500.

Look forward to any wisdom you can share.

Cover type Excess Emrg cover Monthly Annual
Comprehensive - Y £87.00 £951.00

The full monty for £87pm is the way to go.....fabulous value for top cover.

Don't waste your time with any of the others.

Renew, relax and enjoy!

Your miles aren't that high and no probs to date...depends on your attitude to risk. Better safe than sorry was my view so I went full comp/100 xs. Personally I pay upfront as the monthly premium seems pointless but again it's your call!

If your mileage is over 60K miles it costs £1900...

unless you pay monthly and it stays at lower under 60k mile rate (but limits your lifetime policy to value you paid for car)

Thanks for your advice, as I thought the full warranty it is and appears to be standard pricing, even for other M cars.

I have booked my car in with BMW Park Lane for its MOT, before the manufacture's warranty runs out. That way if they find anything amiss, it can be dealt with on the original BMW warranty.

did the same recently as mine turned 3yrs old and went with the 87 quid a month option. Simples.

Can the monthly version of BMW Mondial Extended Warranty be transferred to a subsequent owner?

I ask as my E46M3 2004 has been on the annual renewable cover since I got it and is now at 57k. In March I have to decide on renewal again and monthly looks best option (currently pay £835 for £100 XS) since it qualifies for the sub 60k milage premium for this final year, (or forever if I go monthly).

I want to sell in about 24-30 months approx, I need a warranty to enjoy MPower, and I think the BMW cover is fantastic and will help with re-sale too but only if it can be transfered.

On the other hand the Quentin Wilson 'warrantywise' sounds like great value, got quotes covering wear and tear, all electricals, dealer repairs etc etc (sounds as good as the Mondial BMW one) for around £600 PA with no XS. This is transferrable, it releases one from the need to use BMW main dealers for service and I could mod the car etc etc. So that route has good points too - although more of an unknown at claims time frown.

Any experiences?

Yes, on a private sale the warranty transfers.
