Insurance renewal
Discussion
I'm due to renew my car insurance next month and have started fishing around only using the comparison websites so far. I had a NON fault accident in the summer im my work vehicle which is on a completely different policy but when i mentioned it in the application they still bumped up the renewal premium by over a 100 quid! My question is do i need to mention this accident even though it was on a business policy with a different insurer? Incidentally the new policy will be needed for an E93 M3 so any recommendations of reasonable insurers are welcomed.
We have 4 claims between us (I knackered the door of her car on a post, I got rear ended and then she reversed into my car in the drive way, I kid you not
).
I tried all the specialist insurance companies but in the end I got the best quotes from Confused.com and use a company called 1st Central.
With all the claims, two drivers and business cover I think it is a round £772 a year for a 34yr old on a 8K policy. This is for a E39 M5.

I got a great deal with adrian flux last month for my E46 M3 cab.It was actually with the same insurance company i was already with but they beat my renewal by nearly £400! It seems different brokers get better deals with the insurance companies at different times.
It would be a good idea to tell them about your claim,as insurance companys share info and if you needed to make a claim they would probably look into it and if found out it would certainly invalidate your claim.

London victoria seems the best so far at £850 but they have 400 compulsory excess. Other quotes are 200 more expensive but more reasonable excesses. I've been mentioning the claim to the insurers and still waiting for A.Flux to get back to me after their initial quote of over £2000!! 37yo clean license etc.

Seems to be the trend at the minute.Mine went from £700 to just shy of a grand(35 yr old,no claims or endorsements) so i was very happy when i got the quote off flux for £580.
The best any of the go-compare sites could do was around the £700 mark.
For an M3?The best any of the go-compare sites could do was around the £700 mark.
