Been offered this car of a friends relative. Was chatting to him and i mentioned that i was in the market for an M3. He got his sister in law to send him some pics.

Some info i got of him, 70k, full bmw service history with all reciepts for work done, nappa leather, immaculate condition, mechanical superb with full aa inspection, and she will accept 8.5k which seems a good price. However the possible minus points, its boston green (which i dont mind but could be difficult to re-sell), the interior is a bit er, bright!, 18" wheels, no sat nav.

He says shes quite well off so any maintenance has been booked into bmw every opportunity.

If you like the colour then go for it, don't get too hung up on resale. As long as you buy it with that taken into account in the price.

I really like that. Oxford Green iirc is the hardest colour to shift and the interior is Kiwi too which, again, isn't that desirable - however I think the combination works.

At £8.5k, if the service history really is as good as it sounds, then I would definitely be going for that.

I like the colour with the interior.....Look good together....

The 18" wheels aren't all bad. The handling is a lot better.

Do it.

Gonna have a look at it during the week. Ive got some polished 19s lined up anyway if i get it so that should transform the car looks wise and some facelift interior bits and keep the 18s for track days and winter.

Looks like a good one. The colour is a personal preference so I would worry about resale myself. If it's good enough nick, an enthusiast should be able to look past the colour for the benefits of having a well cared for car. Plus there's always someone out there who likes to be a little different to the norm!

Not sure about the wheels though myself! Look a little too small for an M3, doesn't really suit it!

Not keen on the colour combo myself but if you like it thats all that counts. It would look much better with a nice set of oe 19s on too.

At £8.5k the price is very reasonable and if condition and history is as sound as you say then i would go for it.

Theres always someone out there looking for something a bit different so i wouldnt worry about when it comes to resale either especially as you would've got the car reasonably cheap anyway.

You don't mention the age, so its hard to know if £8.5k is good value or not. Although I don't think you will find a low owner, proper history, nice condition example for much cheaper.

Personally I like the colour combo, dark exterior with a contrasting light interior. However If I was buying it for stock I would want at least £1k cheaper than I would pay for a like for like Black one. Thats just a business decision though, if you like it and plan to keep it a while buy it.

Its a manual too, which I think is good on an older one.

HPI it, check the history, look for signs of major accident damage (some minor paint is ok) and check it had the running in service at about 1,200 miles. Also there was a major recall on these engines a few years back 2003/4 I think where it required quite major work on the bottom end. If it has been maintained by BMW, it should be quite easy to check this has been done. Cars after this time were unaffected.

I like the green but it would be better with a black interior.

Porsche do a similar green called rainforest and it always gets a slagging by Porsche owners. If you like it dont worry about what others think, it just might take a while to sell it come resale.

On the upside... it doesn't have wood trim.
