Recently acquired an E46 CS after much searching. So far so good, very impressed. Have read with interest many of the threads in here, useful info, thanks guys !

I was a little surprised at insurance quotes. I've come from a 993 4S, and expected quotes to be equal or less, and in general it was quite the opposite. The one quote that stood out from the rest was London Victoria. I've always looked for quality insurers on previous cars, with minimal limits on choice of repairers etc, but since this is getting on for half of other quotes it's hard to ignore. Has anyone got any views or experience with LV ? Comments gladly received.

I've been looking at a few quotes for CS's and LV have been coming up cheap. The other one that comes up regularly is Performance Direct, I've not heard of them but might be worth checking out.

Did you buy the Carbon Black CS from Classic Heroes? Noticed your location on your profile.

Never got to see that, was talking to them but you bought it before I could view it!!

Sounded like it was a good example, hope you enjoy it!

I'm negotiating the price on a CS at the moment. I'm currently insured with Elephant and they have given me very high quotes on M3's before but I got a new quote last night which was a lot lower. Maybe they haven't filled their quota in that sector yet so might be worth a quick call.

My wife is with LV and so is our house insurance, excellent service and dealt with the one claim we had really well.

My car is in for a service today and a loan car (316ti) had been arranged. Turns out that my fully comp insurance on a 2000 M5 will not cover me third party to drive other cars.

I went with a company called 1st Central through confused.com. Not going to renew with them thats for sure. Worth checking the small print if you go for these internet only based companies. They wanted £42 to cover me for the 316ti. WTF!!!! Live and learn and all that.

Suggest Admiral (if you're not tracking), CCI if you are.

I'm with LV - good price, well known insurer and always been good to deal with... I've previously been insured with them and had to claim and the process was smooth and friendly.
