Bit of a random topic but...

This could be the curse of Wikipedia being wrong, but i was looking the other day and i found that the stats for the two show that the E92 is actually wider than the M6?

I thought the M6 was huge?

BMW M6 Width - 73 in (1854 mm)
BMW M3 Width - 77.8 in (1976 mm)

That doesnt sound right to me?

I went through exactly the same process before getting the M3!

M5/6 will not fit in my garage and leaving a very nickable car on the drive is just not an option for me.

Mind you the M3 only just fits - I reckon the next 3 series will not, I had an E46 before the E93 and it is longer and I now have about 2 inches spare at the front and rear.

Like you say - you'll have to borrow one and try it!

For me the problem with the 6 series is the length of it rather than the width. My old E90 used to fit in my garage ok, but there's no chance of getting a 6 in there without the nose sticking out the door.
