Hi All,

Quick question; on the 2009 and later M3s (the ones with the updated Sat Nav), I see many cars without the USB option. Does this mean that 'non-USB' optioned cars have no interface for an iPhone / memory stick and therefore the only way to load music onto the cars HDD is via the CD player?

Cheers,

Have a look in the glovebox for a USB port?

The usual position for a USB slot is in the centre arm rest, I don't think there would be one in the glove box if the 'USB interface' option wasn't ticked!

I think you may need to use an aux cable or mp3 cd's.

I believe you should have a audio jack input in the centre arm rest that lets you play iPods direct into the hi-fi as standard. The USB option just lets you control the device from the steering wheel.

Actually, there is a USB cable that enables you to scroll through your tracks on your ipod / iphone using the USB function.

In fact, I still have my old cable from my e90 m3 somewhere.

But not on the non-USB equipped versions as referenced by the OP right?
When I spec'd my E90 (non M3) it was a £200 option to go from input jack to USB control.

Mine has the USB in the glovebox but not in the arm rest - USB/ipod control is not listed on the original spec/options sheet, so I assumed the USB connection in the glovebox was standard?
