Always hankered after one and have seen one cheap. Well, not cheap, but at the lower end of the price range. The ad is rubbish which makes me a bit nervous, but it has part service history and has MOT etc.
He says there is rust on 1 front wing (easy to change) and on the rear arch.
How bad are the rear arches to fix? It is an expensive job?

As to the extent of the rust, if it's bad it can be a "cut out the arch, replace and respray" job. If it's minor I think it can be filled and sprayed. Rust on the rear arches is common on the E36.
I guess it depends on how cheap is "cheap" - in my experience rust on the front wings is really quite rare on these cars, so that may indicate neglect. It is a 3.0 or an Evo?
ETA - You need to be careful buying these cars on the very cheap - running costs aren't low, and a neglected one can turn into a money pit.
