Hi Guys.

I have just bought a 2002 M3 for track use only. Having had a few track cars I have a fair idea of what will need sorting but at 85k miles on the clock I am wondering what will need changing/checking before I let rip on track - have heard rumours about tensioners, water pumps etc etc. The car is an SMG version so any thoughts there would be most welcome. Thanks for your time and sorry for the dull post but I will report back on any bits as we try/fail with components and set up! Cheers.

RTAB's (Rear Trailing arm bushes)
Check the rear springs for broken coils
Make sure the diff fluid has been changed
If you can find someone to do it, the SMG fluid too
Clutch might be quite worn by that mileage but as it self adjusts you may not be aware until it finally goes (someone with experience of SMG M3's could probably tell you).
Standard brakes are quite poor on the track so a good stoptech kit would be beneficial
Use the 18's as they are much better on the track.

Thats all I can think of at the moment
