As per title, I'm looking for a good independent M Power workshop in the Wokingham area. I use Bartleys in Southampton but they are 60 miles away since I moved house, so I need somewhere closer.

Cheers,
Steve

There's a similar thread on the Thames Valley section but I wouldn't touch Munich Motors with a barge pole. I've had a vary bad experience with them and so have others. Grosvenor BMW in Reading have given me a good service and see a lot of M cars. I now travel to DM Worx in Aylesbury who are excellent (Or try CPC if you can travel further but avoid MM).

I have used MM once to change the brake pads, so nothing complicated and it was fine. Unfortunately, they seem to be matching the prices from Sytner in Sunningdale (give or take few pounds and I can think of an oil service, microfilter, brake fluid change all in the last 4-5 months) so I don’t use them.

I've always used DMWorx (formerly BMWorx) for my e39 M5 servicing and maintenance and highly recommend them.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like Grosvenor are the ones to try then. Where abouts are DMWorx?

DMWorx - A-7D, Lower Road, Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP22 5GT

CPC would be better if Phil was able to return calls and be at his workshop when he agrees to be!

He's alot better these days now he is in his new unit, having said that he has never failed to return one of my calls.

Heh, I thought it was a typo from CarbonBlackM5, but googling seems to reveal they've indeed had to drop their name biggrin Just shows that if you buy well, you do not need to visit a garage more often wink

I was asking them about it last month. They had to drop the Mini name they were using too. Had to stump up some cash to BMW for loss of right etc. You would have thought BMW would have better things to do.

As Russell pointed out, if they looked after their staff better they wouldnt set up on their own and if thier customer care was better customers wouldnt vote with their feet.

I would suggest K&M in windsor, have used them a couple of times and always had a good price and good service:

DMWorx in Aylesbury is just as far as going to Bartley in Southampton, I was hoping to find somewhere a bit closer smile Whereabouts are CPC?

I didnt realise IMC in Reading also do servicing. I have seen a number of tempting M3's and M5's listed in their showroom, I was intending to create a new thread asking if they were any good as a used car dealer.

Thanks for the heads up on avoiding Munich Motors, this is the sort of advice I wanted, as well as where to go smile

Cheers,
Steve

Used them before. Not great.

I would only suggest CPC or DMworx

Re:Grosvenor - A negative from me.

They may have changed the setup with the Richfield Ave site but my impressions are the techies are stretched on time and rush through the work.

I tried them with the M3 and it wasn't good. Ask if you want the details.

IIRC they do as when i bought my 330ci from them im sure the guy said they do any bmw servicing etc(including warranty work) but i got the impression imc is a sister company of a bmw indy garage possibly in the newbury area. could be wrong though as got a friend who works at DMWorx so didnt pay too much attention.

worth a trip there though to look at there used cars, place is full of rather nice metal lick

Is there any connection between BMWorx and DMWorx apart from the similar name and same premises (stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury)?

Are they the same guys (if so what happened) or is it a different bunch?

I am looking for a BMW indy in the area. There is more feedback for BMWorx than DMWorx that's all. If this ia new company no connection then I obviously need to concentrate on the DMWorx feedback.

thanks

Graham

One and the same. They used to be called BMWorx but the story goes that they've been ordered by the BMW bods to drop the BMW out of the name and no-one would visit a place called Orx for their car, now would they? wink

And yes, I can recommend them spelled either way.
