New Model M3 Convertible - buying used -

Never thought I would fancy a BM but after driving a new model M3 on a Palmer's sports day was so impressed by the handling & fun I'm tempted.

Are the convertible's too much of a compromise bearing in mind 99% of my use will be on the roads anyhow.

I have heard they are very heavy & wondered are they still fun enough ( or should I get a Porsche convertible instead ..ouch)

Need 4 seats as I won't feel too selfish this way.

Do you need a drop top?

Im biased, I just dont like the idea of them being chopped, a sports cars is always compromised when roofless and I'd always feel like I'd bought a lesser car than I could have.
