As the title says. I've been looking at a Carbon Black E46 M3 but it looks like a deep blue to me, especially when compared to the black rag top. So the question is, is this carbon black or a different colour?

It's this one:

Anyone on here know any of its history?

Carbon black does have a blue element to it - especially emphasised if you look at the car under bright light you'll see what I mean.

yes

As John states, Carbon Black can look very very blue in bright sunlight.

I recall a thread a while back of lots of carbon black cars in the sun, showing how increadibly blue they can look.

Except if you get the official touch up paint from BMW then it is flat black and nothing like the actual paint on the car. furious

I had a few stone chips and scratches that I painted and they all stick out like a sore thumb now.

The paint definitely says Carbonshwartz on the bottle though.

I had a rattle can mixed when I needed to paint my headlight washer cover a couple of years ago, and have touched a few chips up with some of that, squirted into a small container ...... I've also repainted a model car I bought off ebay, and have at least half a can left.

Is it only me who gets annoyed when dealers can't advertise a car properly!?

Title - Manual

Advert - F1 STYLE PADDLE SHIFT

It's just awful!

I also don't like the fact that they're saying "F1 STYLE PADDLE SHIFT"... it's an M3, if I'm interested in buying an M3 I'm not a 13 yo boy thinking I'm going to be the next Lewis Hamilton, no need to over sell it!!!

I did pick up on the cheap tyres. I have to say that everything else looks ok. A few scratches here and there - nothing a good detail wouldn't solve. The interior is relatively unmarked except for some fading on the seat bolsters. Again, easy to fix. And the price seems good, if a little too good for a garage. However it is a small garage so maybe it's priced to sell to keep cash flowing??
I haven't gone through the service history in any great detail, but the last one was done out at Brystones and so I was intending to give them a call as I know how thourough Richard can be. It also tells me that it hasn't been scrimped on with regards to servicing. What has anoyed me though is the garages lack of coming back to me. I've looked over the car twice now (and with the misses). So I've pretty much got the green light. He was meant to be calling me on Monday to arrange a test drive... and I'm still waiting. Really p*sses me off! I feel very reluctant to call as I'm a believer of "things happen for a reason".

Garage phoned not long after my posting.... coincidence or do they watch the forums?!

Anyway, test drive later today.
