After a very long day yesterday (son was in hospital but that's another story) I was on my way home and I run over something on the road.
It was dark and I didn't see what it was but it didn't feel too bad, not much worse that a catseye really but whatever it was it put a 3mm slice in the front offside tyre sidewall.
So I then dragged all the stuff out of the boot and fired up the compressor according to the instructions.
I could see the sealant going into the tyre but it didn't do a thing.
I then moved the car so the leak was at the bottom of the tyre thinking this might help but still no luck, I presume it didn't work because the leak was it the sidewall.
So the car is still abandoned by the side of the road.
I have bought a LARGE can of tyreweld and will try to get enough wind into the tyre to get it home, its only about 5 miles away.
Has anybody had any hassle with these before?

Pretty sure they wont work for a 'slice', too much movement, especially in a sidewall, which is stretched and compressed with every turn of the wheel.

I have a feeling that the only real option is recovery on a truck.

ETA hope your son gets better.

As above, won't work for slices in the sidewall. Also as above, hope your boy is ok.

Update, it looks like the sealer had blocked the valve so I couldn't even blow it up.
Luckily a pal has an M5 so I stole his front wheel to get it home. Bit of a carry on but its all done now.
Two new front tyres get delivered tomorrow and I will get them fitted on Saturday so it should be fine.
The boy is still awake and being a pain but I think he will be ok.
Cheers.
Ritchie.
