I just sole my X5 4.8is (nice car) and traded for a M5 Touring, what a machine this one is, never really thought of changing the X5 as had 2 x 4.8iS and then before that a M3 conv and M3 coupe

But this M5 only had a week and Im very impressed, cant wait for the 2011/12 models to come out so I can upgrade again in a year or two

any one got one of these? its a 2007 model in silverstone

Put a deposit down on a saloon (also Silverstone) a few days ago, pick it up in a week - can't wait!

Ive got a 2007 E61, Saph Black. love it!! Just so you know, this is the last M5 Tourer BMW will make as there is no plan to make an F10 Tourer. How many miles etc has yours got?

I tried one on loan, but found the balance to be a bit off. This may be because I am used to how my e60 handles, but it certainly felt different.

Hard to tell when I only had it for a couple of days, but thought it worth mentioning.

Great looking car, congrats.

Rare as rocking horse poo but yet there's two very near where I live, both CB. I like rare cars and I can imagine one fella saying to his OH "yeah, only 1300 made, 150 in the UK*" and then finding a near identical car two streets away.

If a family comes along anytime soon, one of these would be in the running.

* numbers estimated. Anyone know actual numbers?

I wish car manufacturers would stop putting awful plastic on top of their engines, especially on their performance variants, I want to see that epic V10 not a piece of bloody plastic

Also I think the plastic is there so you dont delve into the V10 engine, but I agree they should show it off

I think 222 RHD were made. Of that number i think 200 came to UK.

Vey nice indeed mate, i hope you enjoy the experience. If ever you get bored of the 167 wheels (M6 style) let me know as i'd rather have them on mine than the current 166's (M5 wheels). Hard to get them in E61 fitment as the rears are a funny width.

Agree on the engine bay. Audi do such a great job with the carbon fibre bits, why couldnt //M do the same?

Eddie.

All

There are a few others for sale, but the colour and the wheels attracted me to this car initially I had booked to see a X5M and the M5 touring, but the X5M was sold, but I wasnt keen on it anyway after having two X5 4.8iS for the last 6 years, I thought why not have a change

First drive back from Doncaster to newcastle was when I thought I had made the correct choice, the wheels are nice ones - similar to the jade Rs I have on my Sagaris

The plastic is the airboxes, not an engine cover!

Im sure the plastic is for the air (Zod) but Im not touching the engine, just admire and hear it purr as it blasts you down the road from A to B

Yeah totally agree it brings a big smile to ones face when you leave cars for dead in an estate!!

Other than a supercar, virtually nothing can leave other cars for dead on the motorway the way an M5 can. Click down to 3rd and hit the hammer and just watch the cars behind vanish in the rear view mirror. Works better in Germany of course, where you don't need to take your foot off the throttle after a few seconds and you can light the shift indicators in fourth and fifth.
