Got myself an E46 M3 Convertible

So I've put a deposit down on an E46 M3 Convertible 
Sadly I need to sell the E36 M3 Evo saloon - I will miss her
The only thing that bugged me on the test drive was the rubbing noise made by the windows on the hood. Must be a common problem. Other than driving with the windows or hood down, how do you get rid of it?
Another question. Does a wind deflector make a lot of difference. Should I consider getting one?

Another yes to the wind deflector. Think they're around £250 new or £120ish on ebay. What you get for your money clearly isn't worth the high price, however the difference they make is well worth it. They make the car far more versatile, roof down on the motorway and still being able to talk, hair not being blown about and makes it much warmer.

I bought a magazine called 'M3 Evolution of an Icon' and it recommends Wurth rubber care. I've just ordered some and will let you know how it goes.
Please do. Was thinking about using silicone rubber lubricant - you know, the stuff you use on your shower door seals? But I will wait now.tjw110 said:

Yeah, the old girl is in the adds. Such a lot of car for very little money. Will be sad to see her go. Hopefully she'll go to someone who'll look after her.
So on to the newie... It's this one:

Should be picking her up later this week. She was being sold on 'Sale or Return'. Explains the low-ish price. She's in great condition and everything's up together. Really pleased. The only negative I could find were the tyres, which although relatively new, are Kumhos. Reckon the previous owner couldn't stomach the £800+ for 4 top brand tyres just to sell her. Will change them as and when required. Just need to keep my eye out for a matching hardtop.
I can't make this weekend mate. But I will be going down to the next Gooders Brekie Club. So if you're about, let me know - either for a run down or to catch up down there.

Gave them a building society cheque today. So just need them to give me a bell when they are happy to release the vehicle (even though the cheque as good as cash?). Wind deflector - get one. I had my car probably a year before buying one and I dont know why I waited so long! I drove the car everywhere with the roof down whenever it wasnt raining and with the deflector, even in sub-zero temperatures its comfortable. Best money you can spend on a cab IMO.
As for the squeeking, get some Gummi Phlege (sp) from the dealer and a decent applicator cloth. Rub it on all the rubbers (especially the rubbers where the roof meets the bodywork on the rear). I had my car in with the dealers for this problem and they replaced all the rubbers and re-treated the glass with something to no avail. I bought a can of the above and it was gone forever!
