I picked up my new 05 E46 M3 Cab yesterday. I've been having a play today and have found that I have no sound when in Television mode. Radio/CD, Sat Nav, and phone are all fine. If I turn the volume right up in Television mode, I hear some interference clicking. Sounds (excuse the pun) like a loose connection from the tuner? Anyone had a similar issue? Also, where is the tuner? And how do I get the radio unit out?

I'm sure it's something to do with the CD in the nav, or the software version, have you put the question on M3 cutters?

I looked at one at a dealer and they said they do not work any more due to the change over to digital signals. Obviously I'vebeen given misinformation. Just a dodgy Tv in the one I was looking at I guess.

The older TV's don't have a digi tuner, an 05 plate should have, my car does, always on Dave to watch reruns of top gear

I'll investigate the sat nav DVD version and check the cars software version tomorrow. Have to get myself registered on m3cutters. Cheers T

When I got my M3 I didn't have any sound from the TV either. In my case I had a look at the wiring into the BM54 module and noticed a loom extension. The previous owner had added an iPod connector but not done a very good job of it. I took it out and the sound returned to the TV.

Managed to get 5 minutes to have a play about. The software version is 4-1/01. The Sat NAV DVD is 2005-2.

Anyway, I decided to have another look at the television. Still no sound, so I decided to press every button on the computer unit. I pressed the left side of the "tape track change" button (what it's called in the manuals), and hey presto! Pressed again, and away it goes. Again and sound back again. Nothing in the manuals? The unit is a front loading CD player with 6 disc changer in the boot. Don't understand why the button is there? If you push the same button but on the right side, the OSD toggles - i.e. station and time display toggles on and off. I'm just happy it's all ok.

Thanks for everyones help.

And it's gone again, can't get any sound from the television this morning? I'm getting the picture fine and I know that the audio will be encoded in the same digital stream. Gonna have to have a look at the cabling I guess.
