Apologies if this has been done to death before, but I'm just wondering why you can only get S6 gearchange mode with the traction control off?

Does it upset the traction control (can't see why really) or is there some more subtle reason?

Anyone know the answer?

Thanks

That's a good question, and one I can't really answer. My only guess would be that S6 was deemed to quick / aggressive for traction control to cope with. I'm not a fan of S6 to be fair, much prefering the highly efficient workings of MDM. S6 is only usefull if your into drifting your way to and from the tyre shop. I look forward to hearing a definitive answer to this one.

I wondered the same thing on the smg 2 on the E46 M3. I wonder if it is to minimise wear to the driveline...

I was told on the M3 that its violent enough to trigger the DSC in some cases so you have to turn it off to use it.
