e36 3.0l MOT failure
Discussion
Hi guys,
I’m after a bit of advice as I’m not really a mechanically inclined person, nor
My 93 M3 3.0 failed it MOT on the exhaust, it is blowing in front and behind the cats. I assume this means full system replacement, the price the garage has quoted is 470 for just a standard exhaust. That seems a little steep to me, or is that the right ball park? I’ve seen other exhausts advertised e.g scorpion for around 300-350.
Also I asked them to check out an oil leak, they said there is a gromit\screw on the side on the engine where the oil is leaking from. Any ideas? I quick google suggested just requires a replacement washer and screw. Has anyone else has experienced this type of problem? Is it something I could sort out? Sorry for not being more specific but that was the info I was given. The garage in question suggested I take to a specialist.
Any help much appreciated.

If it's just cracking/splitting why not get a mate or garage somewhere to weld it up? Had simillar on mine, and luckily a pipe fitter at work patched it up in his lunch hour, cost me a 12pack of lager.I’m after a bit of advice as I’m not really a mechanically inclined person, nor

All else fails, ring round a few exhaust places, get a few prices..... SCORPION or such like would seem sense if cheap enough, if you're anywhere near yorkshire, I cant recommend EXHAUSTSUK at Sheffield highly enough. They've done 3 of my cars, all custom stuff, and 1 of my dads classics. Once the derv saab's system fails, it'll be going there
