Buying a z4m. what to look for?
Discussion
Excellent choice of car

- Make sure it has had its 1st service at circa 1,200miles (Crucial)
- FSH, either BMW or Indy that specialises in BMW's (correct engine oil is important with these, especially if doing track days)
- Broken rear springs are a known fault - Easy fix, not too expensive, many replace all 4 with stronger after-market items (Eibach or HR most popular)
- O2 sensors are known to fail - again not a big problem

Take a look at Evo buying guide. I too am in the market to buy one, but here in Switzerland. Sadly there aren't many around and they are way more expensive than in the UK - grrrr.

Paul, did you have a tuscan, i think i bought the cover from you for my t350?
If so, how do you find the z4m compares with the t350 you had, and indeed the tuscan?
Yep thats me If so, how do you find the z4m compares with the t350 you had, and indeed the tuscan?

To be honest the zed is harder to drive as i think most Ms are most difficult to master is the clutch bite 1st to 2nd.I like to compare it to the T350 as its very similar in style but not so loud

Both tivs feel lighter to drive as thay are 300 kg lighter but the build quality is very poor on the tivs when comparing.
Saying that i wont say i wont go back leaving my options open.
Very rare car the Z4M be wise on the colour and you won't lose money on them same as the tiv
Any help or questions feel free.
Paul
the MC has the same hairy chested feel to it. but is a lot quieter.
its slower in a straight line but quicker cross country
its harder to slide controllably (wider rear tyres? more weight?)
it feels like you can drive it hard all day every day...and it would enjoy it.... not something that could be said of my Tuscan (and probably every TVR?)
