Any E39 M5 owners had anything done by Evolve?

The exhaust/headers and remap package they offer looks half decent. The sound especially so!

Be good to get some unbiased opinions.

Eisenmann is what you want to unleash that V8 roar, although they're not cheap!

I've just had my E46 M3 remapped by them with very good results. I researched a lot before deciding which tuner to go with, I've had some terrible experiences over the last 15 years with so called "car tuners".

I would describe Evolve as a "no bullst" tuner. In my world this is perfect, they have a few guys there, one in particular is very very technically capable. Their maps are all in-house designed (most tuners buy off the shelf) and they are very good with E39 M5's.

Don't expect to go there and receive wild power claims, do expect to be sold a realistic quality product that generates the claimed power.

Their maps are so good they are being remotely sold to guys on the M3 forums in the states.

Sal is excellent at what he and his team can achieve.

He took my E39 M5 which was a healthy standard car with 396bhp and 380lb/ft and turned it into a healthy mapped 418bhp and 400lb/ft M5 using none other than time and a laptop/rollers.

The level of attention to detail that he took over the job took my breath away. I can totally recommend his work - it has made the car very drivable and more like how I imagined it should have been from the factory. I would imagine that header work too (although very expensive) would be incredible in tandem! I even gained fuel efficiency - I get 30mpg at 70mph!!!

Big thumbs up from me thumbup

I too recently had my Z4M Coupé remapped by Evolve, and very pleased about their work. Their remap has improved the car in every sense of the word, better mpg, torque delivery in high gears, but most importantly acceleration from 3rd gear upward.

I've had the car for over 4 years now and IMO, this has been the best thing i've done on the car. Spent the w/e at the ring covering over 20 laps at full chat with no issues at all.

Evolve mapped by best friend's Nowack E39 M5 500 - I drove the car just after he bought it with the original Nowack map and it put 450bhp on the rollers. I also drove it just recently following a GSR rebuilt and Evolve mapping session. Night and day difference in favour of Sal's work.

Moreover I watched with my unbelieving eyes an Evolve mapped Z4MC leave a DMS mapped CSL for dust in 2 separate pulls on the Belgian motorway, so yet again, Sal must be doing something right... Before anyone of the CSL boys says "Bah!" - the driver knew what he was doing...

Evolve are very good at what they do and top chaps to boot.

Unlike some companies nowadays, they will not try and sell you stuff that won't actually benefit your car - really refreshing.

They also don't map cars just for the sake of it - if you won't see any gains whether they be through drivability or power / torque then they won't just map your car and pocket the cash.

Also, get down to one of their Barbeque days - really makes going anywhere else rather difficult!

I have had the full package fitted to my e39 M5 by Evolve. I have the headers and full exhaust, alpha N, AP brakes and Bilstein coilovers amongst other things. The results - wow !

Sal reall knows his stuff and the attention to detail is second to none. There is an M5 meet soon at Evolve so I would get yourself along there. Details on m5 board.

I also had my Z4M Coupé remapped by Evolve earlier in the year (they said it was the first one they had remapped via the OBD port) and echo the above comments. The car now certainly feels quicker than before from around 5000 rpm onwards and throttle response is much smoother with improved MPG to boot. A very worthwhile mod IMO.

Just out of curiosity, did it raise your redline? ESS's remap raises it to 8500 from the normal 8000.

The redline was raised by 100rpm to 8100. Raising it to 8500 sounds a bit on the high side to me.

Likewise, Sal kept mine well within limits by only raising it by 100rpm. Additionally he, as well as derestricting the car, removed the rev limiter in 6th gear for me.

And I will hopefully see you there - Spoke to Sal the other day and he seemed very knowledgeable. My E39 M5 is standard, so want to make sure it's healthy before inevitable Alpha-N/exhaust/general wallet destruction ensues biggrin
