Time for some new pads on the Z4MC

Any recomendation on supliers / types?
or just stick with OEM pads?

are they easy to do DIY or should i book it in?

Mostly fast road driving, perhaps a track day per year, haven't had any issues with the standard brakes...

Cheers

Ferrodo DS2500 for road or Pagid RS29 for a more track bias or heavy road use. It is a job you can do yourself if you are reasonably confident with a toolkit and there is a pretty handy guide over on the z4 forum if you wanted to give it a go smile

Got Axxis ULT's on mine. A small improvement in bite but they feel a bit funny at first, a bit hard to judge the proper braking point in town driving. You get used to it though so enough. I like them for fast road/canyon carving. Dont cost much either. I'm pretty happy overall.

This is also one of the best guides i've found and it's what i followed when swapping mine.

I've going to go for the new Stop Tech ones, they are the same (new name) as the Axxis ones mentioned above.

I'm gonna go for them too, i'm waiting for my brake discs to arrive and then i'm changing discs and pads. Where did you see them for sale?

The standard pads that I removed are texar c£80 for the set from Euro car parts.

I ended up with EBC redstuffs, as i trust EBC to be good quality, c£140 direct.
seem to work fine in the town driving i've done so far, will report back after some harder driving

cheers custard

PS fitting is easy

Is there any issue with using uprated pads with the standard discs?

I had the impression that uprated pads would eat standard discs, or does this simply relate to very aggressive pad compounds.

I was looking at the axxis pads and perhaps the stoptech oem replacement discs. CA auto sell these as a kit with s/s hoses. Has anyone got any experience with this setup?

That was the setup i wanted but CA emailed me and told me the Stoptech stage 2 upgrade (discs, pads, brake lines) isnt available for our cars, bullst or not i ended up only buying Axxis ULT pads and Goodridge brake lines...

Upgraded pads will be fine with the stock discs, if you go for something REALLY aggressive then my guess is that yes, the discs wouldnt last as long.

According to EBC

Red stuff are OEM equivalents
Yellow stuff are track pads
