As the E46 M3 CSL approaches its 25-year milestone as a modern classic, do we expect to see even fewer of them on UK roads?
Will more CSLs now be tucked away in garages, private collections and storage units, gradually becoming museum pieces rather than cars that are regularly driven?
With the current entry point into CSL ownership sitting around £130k, could we see values reaching £200k+ between 2027 and 2028?
The CSL has been highly sought after in the US for years, and with such limited production numbers worldwide, finding one for sale — whether LHD or RHD — is only likely to become more difficult.
For some perspective, around 17,970 E30 M3s were produced worldwide, compared with just 1,383 E46 M3 CSLs. With estimates suggesting that fewer than 1,100 CSLs may remain today, the numbers are exceptionally low.
So what do you think?
Will the E46 M3 CSL eventually surpass the E30 M3 in both status and value, or will the E30 always remain the ultimate M3 icon?
Do we have any other comparable cars that reached classic car status and then imported with popular results?
