Not that kind, the real kind. My '98 Mk 2 is missing one screw from the bracket holding the passenger side sun visor on. It's a black anodised countersunk job with quite a deep thread. In fact, remembering that a picture is worth a thousand words:

Anbody got a spare one? I've tried the local factors and some more unlikely places with no joy.

You've tried Autolink and MX5 Heaven?

I have no idea why but one on my passenger side sunvisor seems intent to constantly come out.
I tightened it up about 2 weeks ago and it feel out yesterday.

I do hope it stays put this time!

Interesting. Must be a particular kind of vibration going on there. Maybe we should both try Loctite!

Yeah I'm not sure, it does feel like it's screwing in properly & not cross-threaded.
I shall keep an eye on how long it takes to fall out this time!

It bizarrely has only started happening recently.

Disappointing.
This is not the thread I imagined it to be.

Interesting, exactly the same happens to one of my passenger visor screws, kept finding it in the footwell. Dab of lock tight type stuff seems to have done it.

The fact that MX5 Parts offers this specific screw seems to indicate it's a common problem. Must be some weird harmonic going through the screen frame there.

This happens on mine as well! Even had one of the bolts on the roof clamp come undone on me last week. Stood there wondering why the clamp wouldn't lock back in place for about 5 minutes, scratching my head, looked at the other side, came back to it and then noticed the bolt had unscrewed by a good 1-1.5 cm!! Loctite is now my friend!!

Cost of Loctite - £6.95. Cost of keeping screwdriver in car - £0. I will be going with Plan B.

No, no hard top here. New screw is in place, they only seem to really engage at the very end of the screwing process.
