After an MX5...

I'm in the market for another MX5 (it'll be my third!).
I want to spend as close to a grand as possible, but will stretch the budget to £1500 (maybe a smidge more) for the right car.
Needs to be a UK car (insurance for me on on import is hundreds more expensive for some reason), 1.8 ideally, manual, not mariner blue or silver and be rust free. Pretty much anything else I can deal with.
Anyone thinking of selling or know of a peach? Cash waiting for the right car!

UK car and rust free for a grand, at the start of summer - you'll have to be flipping lucky!
You're more likely to find a rust free Eunos 1.8 for £1500, but even then you've gotta be pretty lucky.
Good luck on the search, if you try specialist insurers/brokers, they'll work out just as cheap for the Eunos as the UK spec car, and you'll more likely end up with a nicer example for your money too.

I have, but insurance on imports is a joke it seems. I can insure a UK car for pennies under £400, but imports are over £800. If I found THE car and it was an import I'd work something out, but for now I'm restricting the search to UK cars only.Check out CRneo's black one...

Have you tried Sky insurance? they didn't charge a penny extra between UK & JDM for me.. Gassing Station | Mazda MX5/Roadster/Miata | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
