A Eunos ISN'T dearer to insure than a UK spec MX-5
Discussion
There's frequent comments to the contrary, so thought I'd point that out as it's an incorrect generalisation!
Some insurers might provide a more expensive quote for a Eunos, but this could be said of any car.
I have a Eunos, it has always been insured by a large mainstream insurer such as Admiral or Direct Line, at no additional premium over a UK spec MX-5.
P.S. Whilst I'm addressing generalisations just because its a Eunos doesn't mean it will have less rust than a UK spec MX-5.

Wouldn't it be better to just give the name of companies (that you know of) that don't charge a premium for grey imports as most of them do seem to
That I know of? As per my original post

P.S. I can also post up some photos of rusty Eunos' (Euni? Eunoses?) to prove that they're not immune

My quotes on imports, at mainstream insurers, were all ~150%+ more than UK cars.
Sometimes they are dearer, but often they're not, which is my point really - that you can't generalise that they always are dearer.Check the mainstream insurers first, if for whatever reason they are dearer, then of course there's recommended specialists that others use.

Ahh, the lazy, non-thorough way of doing insurance quote research
As said above I used Direct Line last year (not on any price comparison sites so you won't have found them) and Admiral this year but went direct to them for the best quote. I tend not to use the comparison sites as in the past they've stated that certain insurers won't insure a car for whatever reason but if you go direct they actually will - their forms collect generic information which doesn't always equal a tailored specific quote. I've also heard of other Eunos owners using Aviva and getting good quotes, and surprise, Aviva don't list on any of the comparison sites, so you're missing a trick if you only use them.
Anyway, it wasn't meant as a 'Eunos is never dearer to insure' thread, just a 'its not ALWAYS dearer to insure' thread, as many people appear to automatically assume they're dearer.
