- Feedback, from the steering, engine and tyre noise and through the seat
- Value. What other car offers so much for so little?
- Cheap parts
- Mechanically simple, easy to work on
- The pop up headlights!

In my case it's going on an early morning hoon with an 911 Turbo, M3 CSL, 2 scoobys, TVR, supercharged 111R & Megane 250RS and keeping up with them all easily - in fact nowhere near the slowest car there biggrin

The feeling of superiority you get when someone refers to it as a ghey/hairdresser car and you realise that they are therefore not a proper petrol head and are an inferior being.

That and hooning with the roof down obviously. biggrin

  • Chucking it round a corner, faster than the guy behind you in the much more expensive, faster car.
  • Cruising with the roof down in the sun.
  • Pop up lights!
  • Knowing that if anything breaks / needs replacing, I wont have to remortgage.
  • People thinking the car is newer / more expensive than it is, thus thinking I'm more well off than I am biggrin *

  • Note: This can be a good or bad point with chicks

Haven't had mine long but already having lots of fun.

A highlight was out manoeuvering and accelerating a guy with a mate in his BMW 123d through MK the other day.

He really didn't appreciate the wave as I went off another way at a roundabout.

It's so difficult to stop at just one, there's hundreds.

Like getting into any other car afterwards and realising how AWFUL it is.

yes

I've driven the Golf in to work for the past couple of days, and I find myself having to go just that much quicker just to stay focused.

Buying it for £500, with 199,000 miles on it, putting it through 2 years of MOTs and it not failing or having any advisories! built like a tank!

also, roof down roundabout hooliganism is pretty fun!
