mx5 limited edition icon

I am looking to buy a mx5 icon only 750 came in to uk 6speed box lsd nardi steering wheel tan leather etc.
are these ok what should I be paying for a 2000 reg around 8oooo miles with partial service history.
Also looking at mr2 roadster whats the best for a summer toy and possible sprint or two.
all info appreciated.

I always like the Icon. Best Mk2 other than 10AE IMO.

My mate had an MR2 roadster and... well he didn't like it much. OK as a cute little convertible with decent handling but nowhere near the Elise he has or an MX5, too soft, too much roll, too much understeer, too vague none of which you'd expect from a mid-engine sportscar. On a track an MX5 would leave it for dust.

I found an immaculate Icon on Autotrader last year before we bought Sue's 10AE. The Icon's very pretty, but those pale cream ivory seats look a nightmare to keep nice and it was more money. I thought the 10AE had the best spec for the money myself, but you pays your money......

Thanks for the advice etc dont think I have heard of the 10 AE what sort of model spec year would these be.
Going to Aberdeen tomorrow night to look at a 2001 mx5 1.8 full leather 63000 miles also had a look at a icon special tonight W reg 79000 miles which had the underside and arches professionally done 3 years ago no signs of rust coming back but I noticed the fuel pipes looked badly corroded but new MOT today, drove fine nice colour but tan leather looked tatty
any thoughts on this ? Drove the car nice, all old mots from last 5 years but did not jump and think this is the one.
