As anyone who saw my previous thread in this section will know, I am extremely interested in getting a MK1 MX5 at some point (probably as a second car due to insurance). Anyway I was wondering would anyone who is displaying their MK1 at the Cholmondeley pageant of power on the Saturday, be willing to let me sit in their car and see if my head fits in under the roof? There is a virtual pint in it for you and I would be really grateful. I've got my heart set on one anyway and if I don't fit under the soft top it is an excuse to have the roof down all the time, but as I said, I would be really grateful and it will be interesting to know how much room I would have on the driver side of the car. (I've already had a ride in one and there was plenty of legroom on the passenger side)

Well Mk1 is definitely your best bet then. 6'5" is pretty tall for a small convertible though so you might find your space very limited. If you can just about get in then you should be fine as you can do the seat mod to give yourself a few extra inches and maybe fit a smaller steering wheel.
Space shouldn't be too much of a problem, I can manage to squeeze myself into my mum's Kia Picanto which size wise is actually a few hundred mm smaller than an mx5 each way. A foamectomy is something I will probably do even if there is enough room, simply for the increased bolster support and the smaller steering wheel sounds like a good idea as well.
