Quick question re hardtop
Discussion
If it has a heated rear window you might need an adapter to plug it into your wiring harness as Mk1 & Mk2 use different connectors.
ETA: DOH! Beaten to it!
I will add though... do you really need one? I've had MX5s for 13 years and never felt the need for one. I guess if it's cheap enough you could sell it on at a profit.

Visibility out the back of the soft top isn't exactly bad though, made better by the fact it's only about 18" from your head. My Mrs convertible Mini is a hell of a lot worse for visibility, it's like looking through a letter box!
i'd disagree. On the motorway the rear 3/4 view (the most important) is awful with the soft top up.this added with the reduced road noise, better security and better weatherproofing makes it a nice bonus for long journeys and winter weather.

Thanks for the input chaps.
I bought this car to sell on, but in the meantime my missus has had a change of job and looses the Co car.
She loves the MX5 she we have decided to keep it.
It is a 2000 x reg Met Blue 1.6...52k...12months MOT and has 11 months tax.
Gave £1500 for it and the hard top is black at £100.
So all in all a cheap car.
No doubt I will be frequenting these pages more, as well as the TVR forums.

I agree Matt. Especially on the points about visibility and reduced road noise!this added with the reduced road noise, better security and better weatherproofing makes it a nice bonus for long journeys and winter weather.

I'm actually running a dark blue MK2 hard top on my silver Mk1 right now.I bought this car to sell on, but in the meantime my missus has had a change of job and looses the Co car.

Wonder if my blue hard top is the right colour for your car?

I believe the colour of mine is called 'Twilight Blue'
Are hard tops metal or fibre glass.

Unfortuately mine was shipped with a new car so there's no separate paperwork telling me what colour it is. My poor MX is now down to 0.7 bar oil pressure so the hard top will probably be looking for a new home soon. If you feel lucky I'm happy to meet up and see if it's right for your motor. Wouldn't want to drive far for obvious reasons! Are hard tops metal or fibre glass.
