Not the social networking...

My car makes a twittering noise on tickover. If I put a little bit of pressure on the clutch pedal it stops.

Is it anything to worry about? The car is a Mk2.5 Sport

EDITED to fix my dreadful spelling of pedal!

Its the thrust bearing in the clutch.

Leave it, it's fine, won't harm anything bar confusing the local wildlife.

Mine does the same, Do they get worse over time or is it going to bite me in the ass one day and leave me without a clutch?

Mine does it, and if you had an Elise you'd be going crazy over the sound, they do it too. More modern cars insulate you so much from the noise of the drive-train that you tend to forget what's going on down in the oily bits.

I bet it does biggrin

Sit with engine on and drivers door open. Press clutch in and out - you'll hear it.

Mine used to do it. I fit a new clutch, release bearing, pinion bearing, gearbox oil...

It still does it. Its a feature!
