I'm not 100% sure but I do believe that Mazda do make engines that aren't rotary wink

Only 1 car in Mazdas lineup uses the Rotary engine. And funnily enough the car used to 'celebrate' the win doesn't use a Rotary engine either...

They could just use a piston engine rather than a wankel, and it'd allow them to release another 500 million special editions.
