ok so the car has been smoking lightly for a while on the overrun and when the throttle is picked up again, but doesn't smoke just on hard acceleration or on idle.. but its getting worse and now its a decent amount of blue smoke still only from overrun and when accelerating after the slowing down..

So thinking its valve stem seals, is it ok if i just leave it apart from obviously filling it up with oil.. car seems to drive well still and has all its power( is completely even with a ford 1.7 puma which has more power)

then thinking my cheapest option is to just buy another engine possibly a 1.8

or could it be that the oil is just too thin mobil one fully synthetic 0w-40

Classic sign of valve stem seals is smoke on startup after it's been left for a bit turned off.

My first port of call would be a compression test.
