Reading back through old threads realised that the slight hesitation my car suffers is due to the HT leads being on the fritz..... Then reading some more, discovered fake wood dashes.....

So that's £80 I just spent on soddin' ebay!

Okay, the wood dash is an acquired taste, but I'm of a "certain age" and wood (even fake) just does it for me!

Not reading anymore tonight as I just can't afford it!

Thanks for that...Pal!

More money gone west (well, to Portsmouth) on bits for a car I didn't want in the first place. Was just going to sell it on at a profit but now the wife loves it and, I hate to say, so do I.

Looks like the bloody thing is a keeper!

Spending money on it could be a full time hobby biggrin

When I collected my Roadster, the previous owner handed me the mx5parts catalogue, with the caution "Don't go mad!"

Being serious for a moment - its awesome we have such a place to buy stuff. I've no problems in supporting them with my custom biggrin

I do wish someone would sell a nice stainless exhaust that fits a late MK1 (long cat) though. I feel like a leper!!

I don't even have one but I just ordered the free catalogue.

I can see this going well. I wonder how long before I *accidentally* buy a 5 biggrin

That's how I got mine!

Got to say, I'd been "sort of" thinking about one after reading all the glowing comments on here and thought to myself that if I don't like it I can sell it on for more than I paid (it was a bargain).

Unfortunately, all the rumours and comments are true - they are brilliant fun, the roof comes off in seconds (about twenty times faster than the electric roof on my Merc) and they feel just like a go-kart.

The wife adores it and it's getting to be chore prising her sticky little mitts away from it so I can play with it myself (oo-err!).

Do yourself a favour and get one.

Was never going to spend any money on mine as it was cheap and just a bit of fun.So far..

New wheels + tyres x2, shocks + springs, new roof, new stereo + speakers for doors and headrests, new rear lamps (two sets), new front lamps, new side indicators, new bits for dash, full stainless exhaust inc manifold and decat, numerous services, new leads, turn signal intakes, new steering wheel, front grill, rear mudflaps, replaced all hoses, replaced radiator, rocker cover gasket, O' ring, timing mod, foamectomy...& numerous parts like headlamp lids just to mess about with and several others I have forgotten about.

I hate forums, too hehe

I did save some dosh though by doing the shocks myself and all the servicing and rad change/hoses etc.Plus the roof was fitted by a local group of fans in about 25 minutes and they also helped with the exhaust and foamectomy.

Whatever you do don't look at www.mx5nutz.com. Before you know it you'll be running a supercharger, bigger injectors, Megasquirt engine management, intercooler and coilovers. Kiss goodbye to a few grand!

Larini used to do one, I enquired to them when I had my late Mk1 with the long cat. In fact, I have a screenshot of the catalogue showing it. I can email this to you if you want so that you can get in touch with them. I was quoted about 400 pounds about two years ago. It is no longer part of their catalogue any more though, but they may still make you one...

I think Larini do still make them but they aren't advertised. I have a Larini Sport Cat & mid-pipe.
My back-box is a Racing Beat Power Pulse Dual biggrin

I sent them an email last month asking if they still made the exhaust for the Mk2/2.5 and was told no. I would imagine the same with the Mk1 but by all means try them.
