My wife has got her own car ( new Colt) and I've got my own and over the eleven years of marriage we've run and paid for our own cars.

Now, I just bought a Mazda Eunos as a bit of fun (along with a metro) and I really like it but I don't use it much..... The dearly beloved however is using it every bloody day!

Todays drama, the stereo came up with error code 3 when she put a dodgy cd in and then shutdown, so I thought (having exhausted google to find instructions for the stereo) bugger it, and went to Halfrauds to buy a new double din stereo. They had a lovely Alpine unit for £229 and I got £30 off it 'cos I'm such a nice chap....

Nipped round to a mates house to borrow some tools to fit it and all is now peachy except for my mate pointing to the fuel gauge.

A gnats knacker above the "E" mark!

Now, the last time I drove it I put getting on for £60 worth of petrol in it and I've been nowhere so herself has done all my fuel. When I got home I had words, turns out she put fuel in it yesterday as she'd nipped over the river to see her Mum, a whole £7.50 she'd put in it.

"Well, it's not my car!"

So £216 in Halfrauds and £50 in Sainsbury's. I think the little bugger is gonna have to go - it's just too pricy to run.

How much was the stereo exactly? wink

But seriously - £200+ for a stereo? What is it made of, gold?

Have you ever looked at how expensive double DIN units are?!
I want to replace mine and I certainly won't be replacing with a double DIN!

I know its after the horse has bolted but, you can buy a little cubby that fits under a single DIN unit. Give you somewhere to rest the ipod/phone too.

Or gauges, you can never have too many of those.
