I had my MOT today and they advised I need to change my pads soon.

So I have a mk2.5 SV-T so am I right in saying I have bigger brakes than the not sport model? confused

Indeed Leesa. Just referred to as 'Big Brake' when you look out for them. smile

For anyone else stumbling upon this, I am fairly sure that any Mk2.5 1.8 will have the bigger brakes as they are paired with the VVT engine.

Nope, all Mk2.5 1.8 have the VVT engine. Only the 1.8 Sport model (and a few special editions) has the bigger brakes wink

Bugger.

Thought I was onto something.

Mine does have the bigger brakes.

Ok think I'm done here.

Euphonic is one of the few special editions based on the Sport so should have the big brakes. The Arizona is based on the 1.8i so most do not have the bigger brakes though some do, not sure why. I'm sure there are probably others like that.

Do a Google for GreenStuff and you'll see that you are much better off with standard Mazda pads.

Not sure that brakes are an area I'd consider being a scrooge on personally.

I hear what you are saying but I'm not being tight about buying decent pads at all!

Green stuff are widely used and can be highly rated, so when I saw 4 for sale
I thought if they fit then why not!

Hope this makes sense as on phone !
