I'm loving the MK1 track car I've bought as it's fantastic to drive but just needs a liitle more oomph in the grunt department.

To that end can anyone recommend a reputable company/individual with experience of fitting Superchargers to the MK1 1.8?

I'm trying to geek up on which Supercharger is best suited but could do with having a chat with someone who has plenty of experience of this to help with my decision of what is best suited to my car and exactly what parts are needed.

Thanks

Thanks, I am on there and have read some of the info which is very useful, Phil at Performance 5 was highly recommended are there others? The car is kept in Leicester so ideally someone local would be handy.

does anyone offer a "drive in, drive out" service including tuning, keen to get a Supercharger fitted to deliver around 200 bhp, but don't have the mechanical know how or time to do it myself.

Thanks

"onlymx5s" on here offers such a service. He's done work for a few PH'ers as well I think.

In the meantime, why not fit skinnier tyres?

Lol good plan, I've bought some cheap 14" drift wheels for exactly that purpose.

There's a company called JCR Racing in Kings Langley who are specialist in supercharger and turbo fitting.
Worth a call to discuss what you can do - Janic is the man to speak to.
Find them here - http://www.jcrracing.co.uk/index.html
HTH. Cheers, pewe.

Roddo in Sheffield could probably sort it for you. He'll probably be easiest to find on Nutz.

WGT Autodevelopments have done a "drive in, drive" out engine conversion for my MX5 and are currently working on a V6 conversion for someone else. A standard supercharger kit would be easy. If it's a complete/standard kit, I'd expect a day to fit and 6-8 hours to dyno tune and road test => 16 hours labour => £800?

They are near Crewe. I used them, even though they are 200 miles from me. Ask for Pip Gardner, after 4.30pm usually best.

When I put a supercharger on my MX5 back in '95, I was (and still am) a mechanical novice. It took me and a friend with similar skills just a day.

What is the package they fit? (i.e. Charger, Fuelling, ignition timing)

You should be either looking at a turbo or an MP62 SC then. You can get over 200bhp with an M45 (JRSC, Mini etc.) but it's pushing it a bit whereas it's pretty easy with an MP62 and an intercooler.

Just buy the kit yourself (e.g. Moss Europe MP62 stage 2 for Mk1 1.8L), have it delivered to WGT who will fit and tune it.

I wouldn't bother with the smaller MP45, less power and less upgradeable to save £100.

Fair enough. I wouldn't get the full Moss kit though, I'd use a proper fuelling & timing solution. Even an eManage blue is better than just using a JR Powercard and retarding the timing.

was looking at the flying miata turbo kits last night and its tempting to go for one of those when you look at the performance you can get. i have emailed the company and see if they even respond first. I noticed almost everyone who does a surpercharging/turbo service either has an out of date website thats bordering on crap or none at all... doesn't make things easy as i like to see what they are like before approaching.
