Mk2 driveshaft removal (diff oil seal?)

Need to replace the differential oil seals, car is a 99 with open diff.
Briefly read a guide for a mk1, not sure if it applies.
How do the drive shafts pull out? They appear to be one piece. Are they just pushed i'n onto the splines?
If I drop the upright by undoing the top bolt, will this be all required to pull the drive shafts out?
