mx5 eunos roadster water leak
Discussion
hi folks, my pal has a 1989 raodster and all the carpets are getting wet through,, all 4 footwells,, anyone got any ideas,,, the roof fabric seems ok, no obvious leak points,,, the car is in very good order, the body is very sound with no corrosion at all,, any sugestions would be most welcome, cheers Ray.
I'd say you've a bigger problem with having 4 footwells.
But yes water overflowing from the hood drains is the biggest source of water. Poke them clean with something thin and flexible but not too sharp. Plastic tubing, plastic coated wire (eg. twin and earth), flexible curtain rod, something like that. Also look at the hood for rips, the window seals for gaps and possibly a damaged rain rail but that's a bit hard to get at and only if you've eliminated the easy stuff first.
